The Irony of Marx

  • The great irony of Karl Marx is that he took up the banner of socialism to atone for the Jewish "sin" of capitalism, after his father converted the family to Christianity.
  • Perhaps evangelists should reconsider their zeal for converting the Jews.
  • The lesson: NEVER ATONE for your successes. Maybe it's your critics who are the sinners, and not you.

Marx's accomplishment:

  • Marxism has provided a plan of action for the transition from feudalism to enlightened capitalism for many cultures.

Marx's ambition:

  • Marx wanted to establish societies which reaped the benefits of capitalism but did away with its annoyances.
  • annoyances such as CREATIVE DESTRUCTION and BUSINESS CYCLES.

Max's naivete:

  • Marx apparently didn't comprehend that capitalism won't work without COMPETITION and an ELASTIC MONEY SUPPLY.
